Heavenly Mother

by Emily Homer

A Heavenly Mother I once have known
A woman of courage and strength to be shown
With appreciation and head bowed down
I ask in faith if she is around
She replies quite softly with confidence amidst
“I’ve been here all along, it’s you I have missed”
With strong arms of love and determination so dear
She pulls me in and whispers into my ear
“Welcome back child, oh how you’ve grown
“Let’s sit here together and see what you’ve sown”

Woman with closed eyes and head tilted upwards towards the sunlight
